Editorial policy
Rand Converter is an automated currency converter for South Africa. It publishes the official exchange rate of the South African rand against other currencies, with the source and the date shown next to the figure.
How a rate is checked before it is printed
Each rate is taken directly from the reference rate published by the central banks. It is stamped with and the source, then printed without any hand editing. No person adjusts a figure to make it look better or to match a competitor. If the source has not published a rate for the day, the page shows the previous official rate with its date rather than an estimate.
What the site does not publish
- Offers, deals or promotional rates from any provider.
- Predictions or forecasts of where the rate will move.
- Unofficial or parallel-market figures.
- Names of banks, bureaus de change, exchanges, remittance services or payment apps.
Corrections
If a figure looks wrong, report it through the contact route on the site. The page is checked against the source, corrected if needed, and the correction is noted on the page. The site is automated and has no staff to name.
How the site is funded
The site earns from a marked sponsored link. The sponsor has no influence on the rates, the source, the date or the correction process.
