The naira is the currency of Nigeria, and this page shows what it is worth in South African rand. The rate tells you how many rand you get for a given amount of naira, which is the figure that matters when you are pricing goods across the border, sending money to family, or working out what a trip will cost. Travellers and traders are the usual visitors here.
Where the rate comes from
The naira figure is taken from the reference source (Frankfurter), not from the central bank, and it carries the date of its own rate: . Rates are published once on working days, so treat the figure as the official rate of the day rather than a moving price.
Using the converter
Enter the amount you want to change, pick the direction, and the converter does the arithmetic.
- Check the rate date before you rely on a figure.
- Use the tables for quick estimates on the go.
